On Amanda’s IMDb.com page it says she’s in the talks for the Disney movie Cinderella, that will be released in 2013. I found this article at Aceshowbiz.com with some information about the movie itself…
A fairy tale princess will come to life should Disney move forward with its plan creating a live action version of “Cinderella”. Deadline is reporting that there has been a surge of interest in adapting classics into live action since the success of “Alice in Wonderland”. Disney is not one to fall behind the trend.
A 7-figure deal is currently made for a project which will be led by Aline Brosh McKenna in the writing department. McKenna is known as the scribe of romcoms such as “The Devil Wears Prada” and “27 Dresses”. Meanwhile, “Jumper” and “X-Men: First Class” producer Simon Kinberg will back up the project. Together they have once worked on the production rewrite of “Date Night”.
The classic version of “Cinderella” is first made by Disney in 1950, telling the story of an unfortunate girl dreaming of a prince. The story has been adapted as a spine in a number of feature films such as “Ever After” and “A Cinderella Story”. However, it is not yet known whether this live-action version will bend from its original story or whether it would be made in 3-D.
Amanda Seyfried has said that she insulted Leonardo DiCaprio by asking him to play her father in her new film.
The actress, who is filming the DiCaprio-produced The Girl in the Red Riding Hood, was however rejected by the actor.
“Unfortunately he’s not in it. I asked him if he would play my dad but he got insulted!” she told The Mirror. “He said, ‘I don’t do male leads in love stories anymore’. And I said, ‘I wasn’t talking about the male leads, I was talking about my dad. You’re what, 35? Age yourself up a bit!’”
The Dear John star also revealed that because of her shyness, she once blanked Harrison Ford when they were stuck in a lift together.
“I can’t connect to fame yet. One day I will – when I get used to it. You know, I was in an elevator with Harrison Ford and in order to respect his privacy, I didn’t even look at him, which was really stupid of me. Why not say something like, ‘Hey dude, I grew up with you. You’re amazing. Nice to meet you’. Why can’t I say that? I don’t know. I was nervous.”
Over at ARTISTdirect.com you can now win a Dear John soundtrack signed by Amanda Seyfried, they are going to give awat 10 signed copies. Go to ARTISTdirect.com to enter the contest.
More details on the potential cast for Paul Thomas Anderson’s forthcoming untitled Scientology drama are surfacing as it gears up for a shoot this summer. Last week we reported that Reese Witherspoon had been offered the role of the Master’s wife Mary-Sue, who acts as his caretaker and vigilant lieutenant. This week, the print edition of Production Weekly reveals that Amanda Seyfried, Emma Stone and Deborah Ann Woll are all being considered for the role of Elizabeth, The Master and Mary-Sue’s daughter.
We reviewed the script for the film that was floating around earlier this year and while the role of the daughter is a small one (though that could’ve changed), it also does have some pretty salacious bits (that we won’t spoil here) which will be an eye opener for any fans of the actress who lands the role.
So who will land it? It’s hard to say. Seyfried seems like least likely candidate only because she is set to shoot Catherine Hardwicke’s “Girl With The Riding Hood” this summer and depending on when Anderson’s film goes in front of cameras, scheduling alone could take her out of the running.
