Amanda Seyfried talks about her role as M.K. in EPIC

EPIC tells the story of an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good who keep the natural world alive and the forces of evil who wish to destroy it. When a teen age girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters in order to save their world… and ours.

When we heard the rumors around a “Mean Girls” musical, we immediately started casting the parts.

But one thing we didn’t account for was the idea that Amanda Seyfried might not want to reprise her role as Karen.

After all, what about Karen would make Seyfried not want to play her? She’s pretty. She doesn’t have to think, like, ever. She gets to wear pink on Wednesdays. She has ESPN, and her boobs can predict the weather. Or rather, her boobs can tell you about the current weather conditions.

So why would Seyfried want to walk away from the character who first put her on our radar? The temptation of the dark side, perhaps?

Seyfried tells Allure, “I desperately want to be Regina.” So our question for you is: Would this work? Could Seyfried’s big doe eyes contain the ferocity necessary to be queen bee? More importantly, could Seyfried convincingly play the girl who can’t be killed (even when hit by a bus)?

Although Seyfried’s career has definitely sky rocketed since her days as Karen, we’re not so sure we could handle a switch up within the plastics squad. What are your thoughts? Who would you cast as Regina George in a “Mean Girls” musical?

Amanda Seyfried isn’t one to shy away from risque roles. The doe-eyed actress played a young prostitute in 2010′s “Chloe,” and takes on the role of the titular 1970s porn star in “Lovelace.”

But those hoping to see Seyfried, 27, disrobe for Allure’s May “Look Better Naked” issue are out of luck.

The New York Post’s Page Six reports that at a recent dinner to celebrate the upcoming issue, Allure’s editor-in-chief, Linda Wells, pointed out that Seyfried was the only featured actress, among Naya Rivera, Jennifer Morrison and others, to appear clothed in the issue.

Seyfried defended herself, according to Page Six, responding, “I would have, but my publicist wouldn’t let me!”

However, according to the Post, her publicist Evelyn Karamanos didn’t stop her from giving Allure some raunchy quotes during the interview. For example, she reportedly relayed some unusual advice her vocal coach gave her while filming “Les Misérables”: “Imagine [performing a sex act], get that feeling in the back of your throat, and then sing.”

Seyfried previously opened up to InStyle about her thoughts on going nude for film roles.

“It’s not about my body. It’s not about me,” she said in InStyle’s January 2013 issue. “You’re playing somebody else. You’re not going to believe a love scene if the people are dressed. You’re not going to believe a stripper who has on a bra and underwear the whole time. At the same time, it has to do with how comfortable you are with letting people see your skin. For me, I’m ok with it.”

Amanda Seyfried is obsessed with painting.

The ‘Les Miserables’ actress has developed a passion for art and finds the pursuit so relaxing, she has dedicated an entire room in her Los Angeles house to her new hobby.

She said: ”I’ve been painting my butt off. Watercolours. Abstract art. I have a room devoted to that medium. I literally will sit for hours and hours and hours and listen to a book on tape and paint.”

However, the 27-year-old beauty will soon have to temporarily shelve her hobby as she is to shoot comedy Western ‘A Million Ways to Die in the West’ in Santa Fe with Seth MacFarlane and Charlize Theron.

She told the USA Today newspaper: ”I am his girlfriend in the beginning, he’s trying to win me back throughout the whole movie. I haven’t done a comedy in awhile.”

Painting is a much more conventional hobby for Amanda than one of her other interests – collecting taxidermy animals.

She admitted recently: ”My favourite is Anton, my stuffed miniature horse. When I was last in LA, my sister took a photo of me with my ‘animals’ on the sofa, surrounded by dead horses, foxes and rabbits.”
